On Wednesday January 16th, George Duthie visited the 8th grade Gifted and Talented class of Mary Aruffo at Glassboro Intermediate School. Also in attendance were Business Administrator Walt Pudelko and Director of Operations Drew Sole. George presented information about solar projects and specifically about the district’s own solar project now nearing completion. Solar fundamentals, design principles, environmental benefits and educational benefits were discussed. The students were excited and engaged in the presentation which meshed nicely with the class study of sustainable energy. At the conclusion of the presentation the students demonstrated their solar powered cars.
George comments that “We are pleased to bring the real life application of solar principles, and especially its use at Thomas Bowe School, into the classroom for the children of Glassboro”.
