Title:
Construction Administrator
Description:

We are seeking candidates for the full-time position (Hourly, 37.5 hours per week) of Construction Administrator. The candidate will work under the supervision of the Principals and Associates working closely with Project Managers and Project Architects and will be involved primarily in the construction phase of projects from contractor award to successful project closeout. Other tasks will include coordination with the project team during design phases and QA/QC checks of construction documents. The ability to manage in-house team members, clients, contractors, and consultants in a multi-person team environment is required. 

Responsibilites:
  • shop drawing and construction submittal reviews – coordination with the design team, project architects, and project managers.
  • Reviewing, tracking and logging of RFI’s, sketches, bulletins, clarifications, allowances, and change orders.
  • Travel to project sites and the office as necessary for construction observation and reporting of the progress of various projects.
  • Documentation of onsite construction progress and issues.
  • Communication with entire project team, including Owners, Contractors, Consultants and Construction Managers.
  • Perform QA/QC checks of construction documents / review drawings and details for constructability.
Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in architecture or related field(s) such as Construction Management, or Engineering is a plus, but not required.
  • At least 3 years of construction administration experience or in a related role.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, thorough, and engaged. Takes ownership of tasks assigned.
  • Strong knowledge of all types of construction related project documentation.
  • Good communication (written and oral), organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of construction industry contract administration and AIA documents.
  • Experience in moderate to large scale commercial or institutional projects is required. K-12 experience is preferable.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Computer Programs: must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe programs at a minimum. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam is preferred.
  • Architectural License is a plus but not required.
  • LEED AP certification is a plus but not required.
