We are very pleased to announce that the new Early Childhood Development Center for Voorhees Township Board of Education is now open.
This innovative project is noteworthy for providing universal Pre-K for Voorhees Township's 3 and 4-year-olds as well as incorporating adaptive re-use, shared services (with Gibbsboro Borough), and financing through the NJDOE Pre-school Construction Grant program, all in a state-of the-art school facility. The building, originally a skating rink, later a medical office building, now features twenty-four full-sized pre-kindergarten classrooms, small group rooms for specialized services, a large open atrium for play and movement and a soon to be completed full-service kitchen and multi-purpose room. The new facility is fully accessible and includes a new age-appropriate playground that is also fully accessible.
FVHD's expertise assisted Voorhees Township Board of Education with the challenging tasks of building/site acquisition and approval, adaptation of the building for early childhood, program development, coordination with Gibbsboro Borough and numerous other technical issues.
FVHD is presently the Architect for several early childhood building projects including Somerville and Woodbury City, both of which are now under construction.
