DR. KATHIE FOSTER, INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, PRINCETON PUBLIC SCHOOLS

I am writing on behalf of the FVHD Architects as you consider professional services for your district. As I served as the interim superintendent for Princeton Public Schools, I had the great pleasure of working with architects George Duthie and Dan Schittone for the last two years. Talk with both George and Dan and you will immediately see what we highly value: they are visible, collaborative, and highly experienced. Like many districts, Princeton Public Schools has high expectations for quality of service and community engagement. Therefore, it is critical that our district chose an architectural firm that is not only an expert in the field of design and construction, but is truly able to listen and collaborate with the various internal and external stakeholders. Before we presented the architectural drawings, George and Dan attended many community forums so that they could hear what made Princeton special. Once the design and scope of the projects were finalized, the FVHD team worked with us every step of the way as we led a whirlwind tour of PTO meetings, faculty meetings, board meetings, community forums, and special district events. I was impressed by not only their design and construction knowledge but the time they took to learn about both the unique history of our buildings and the instructional programs that represent Princeton’s core values. In fact, during one community presentation, a local community architect and building principal made suggestions to alter the current design plans. Instead of pushing back and holding fast to their original work, George and Dan left their egos at the door and worked to incorporate some of their ideas into the revised plan. This clearly speaks to the way that the FVHD Architects team welcomed feedback and appreciated the collective ownership in the process. This was one of the reasons that the 2025 facilities bond referendum was such a huge success! George and Dan and the FVHD Architects have served Princeton Public Schools on three different facilities bond referendum projects. Each time, the assigned architects actively participated in every pre and post meeting and continued to provide high quality project management and personalized service. Each project was completed in a timely fashion, designed to meet the needs of our students, worked within the limitations of the space and scope, and always balanced the integrity of the design while adhering to the reality of budgetary constraints. As you can see, I highly recommend the architectural firm FVHD for your school district. I am confident that as experienced collaborative professionals, the team will listen and prioritize district needs. We are truly grateful for their service.
